Modern Slavery Statement
This statement is made by Get Mart Limited (“Get Mart”, “we”, “our”, “us”).
We take a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery and human trafficking. This statement, made on behalf of the Board of Directors, sets out our approach to identifying modern slavery risks and the steps we take to prevent slavery and human trafficking in our operations and supply chains.
We recognise that we have a responsibility to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking both within our business and throughout our supply chain. We are committed to operating responsibly and ethically and to continuously improving our practices to combat slavery and human trafficking.
Our Structure and Business
Get Mart operates as an online retail business providing consumer goods, including household, lifestyle, and everyday products, to customers through digital platforms.
We operate from our primary operational locations and fulfil orders through a combination of in-house and third-party logistics partners. Our business focuses on sourcing, warehousing, marketing, and efficient delivery of products to customers.
We employ a growing workforce and continue to expand our operations in line with demand.
Our Supply Chains
Our supply chains include the sourcing, manufacture, and distribution of consumer goods. We work with suppliers and manufacturers in the following countries:
United Kingdom
China
Pakistan
India
Our suppliers vary in size, capability, and specialisation. Many of them rely on their own supply chains to deliver goods or services to Get Mart.
To assess the risk of modern slavery and human trafficking, we:
Evaluate risk factors when onboarding new suppliers or entering new business relationships
Consider geographic, industry, and operational risks during the initial due-diligence phase
Review supplier practices periodically as part of our ongoing risk management process
Responsibility
Responsibility for anti-slavery initiatives at Get Mart is structured as follows:
Policies: We are committed to ensuring there is no modern slavery or human trafficking in any part of our business or supply chains. We act ethically and with integrity in all business relationships and maintain systems and controls designed to prevent slavery and human trafficking. The Board of Directors is responsible for approving, reviewing, and updating this statement.
Risk Assessment: Senior management is responsible for identifying areas of potential risk within our operations and supply chains.
Due Diligence & Investigations: Management is responsible for coordinating investigations and due-diligence activities where risks are identified.
Training: Training on the risks, indicators, processes, and consequences of modern slavery and human trafficking is provided during employee induction and refreshed when required by changes in legislation or risk profile.
Due Diligence Processes for Slavery and Human Trafficking
Get Mart undertakes due diligence when engaging new suppliers and conducts ongoing reviews of existing suppliers. Our approach includes:
Mapping supply chains to identify product-specific or geographic risks
Reviewing supply chain practices regularly
Evaluating modern slavery and human trafficking risks before onboarding new suppliers
Conducting audits or assessments where appropriate
Engaging in ethical trading and responsible sourcing initiatives
Taking corrective action, including sanctions or termination of contracts, where suppliers fail to meet our standards
Maintaining policies and procedures to protect whistleblowers
We expect all key suppliers to have appropriate anti-slavery and human trafficking policies in place. Suppliers operating in higher-risk regions or industries may be required to formally confirm compliance with our ethical standards or demonstrate equivalent safeguards.
Whistleblowing
Get Mart maintains a Whistleblowing Policy that supports employees, contractors, and agency workers in reporting suspected wrongdoing, including concerns relating to modern slavery or human trafficking within our business or supply chains.
Training
To ensure a strong understanding of modern slavery risks, we provide training to relevant employees. This enables staff to identify potential risks within their areas of responsibility and take appropriate action to mitigate them.
Our Effectiveness in Combating Slavery and Human Trafficking
We monitor the effectiveness of our actions through key performance indicators, including:
Completion and review of staff training
Supplier compliance and audit outcomes
Consistent application of policies and corrective actions
This allows us to continually improve our approach and reduce the risk of modern slavery within our operations and supply chains.
